There is something special about opening a book and finding a little crochet bookmark waiting between the pages.
For me, reading has always been one of those simple pleasures that gives me a quiet place to slow down, get lost in a story, and enjoy a few peaceful moments. And as someone who loves both books and crochet, I eventually found myself wanting to combine the two.
That is how my crochet heart bookmark came to life.

It is small, practical, and cute, but it also carries a little piece of the handmade charm that I love so much.
A Crochet Bookmark Made for Book Lovers
I wanted to create something that would do one simple job well: mark the chapter or page where I stopped reading while still looking adorable tucked inside my book.
Of course, there are plenty of bookmarks out there. But I have always loved the idea of using something handmade, especially when it is something you can keep using over and over again.
This heart bookmark was created with fellow book lovers in mind, especially those who enjoy collecting unique and unusual bookmarks.
Because let’s be honest, some of us don’t just read books.
We also collect the little things that make reading more enjoyable. πβ€οΈ
A beautiful bookmark can become part of the experience. It can remind you where you left off, add a little personality to your favorite book, and even become a tiny keepsake connected to a particular story.
Made With Premium Combed Cotton Yarn
For this bookmark, I chose premium combed cotton yarn.

I wanted something that would not only look lovely but could also hold up to regular use. With proper care, cotton yarn can make a wonderful material for a bookmark that you can enjoy for a long time.
Since bookmarks are something we constantly take in and out of our books, I wanted mine to feel lightweight and practical while still having that handmade quality.
There is something satisfying about knowing that a small crochet piece can accompany you through book after book.
Why I Love Handmade Bookmarks
One of the things I love about handmade items is that they do not have to be complicated to be meaningful.
A bookmark is a very simple object. It marks a page.
But when that bookmark is handmade, it can become something a little more personal.
Maybe it sits inside your favorite novel.
Maybe you use it while reading before bed.
Maybe it travels with you in your bag.
Or maybe you simply enjoy collecting different designs because every book deserves its own little companion.
For me, that is part of the fun.
I wanted my crochet bookmark to be something that makes you smile whenever you open your book and see that little heart waiting between the pages.
More Crochet Bookmark Designs Are Coming
The heart bookmark is just the beginning.
I would love to create more crochet bookmark designs with different shapes, themes, and personalities. My goal is to slowly build a little collection of unique handmade bookmarks for people who love both reading and collecting beautiful things.
And as I create them, I will be sharing the new designs here on my blog and adding them to my shop.
So if you are a book lover who also appreciates handmade treasures, you might want to keep an eye on what comes next. You never know what little crochet companion might find its way into your next book.

Keep Creating, Keep Reading
I love how crochet and reading can both give us a chance to slow down.
One is made with yarn and a hook. The other is made with pages and words.
Yet both can take us somewhere.
I hope this little bookmark brings a bit of handmade happiness to your reading time, just as creating it brought happiness to mine.
And there are more designs waiting to be crocheted, photographed, and eventually tucked between the pages of someone’s next adventure.
Until then, happy reading and happy crocheting! π§Άπβ€οΈ
