Stitching My Way Forward: A Crochet Manifestation for Growth and New Beginnings 🧢✨

Lately, I have been thinking about the things we carry with us.

The habits we pick up.

The little fears we keep tucked away.

The ways we learn to do things because they feel familiar, even when they no longer feel right.

And somehow, crochet keeps reminding me that we are allowed to begin again.

Sometimes a stitch needs to be undone.

Sometimes a whole row needs to go.

And sometimes you look at your project and think, β€œWell… that definitely wasn’t supposed to happen.” πŸ˜‚

But that is the beauty of creating something by hand.

You can unravel.

You can reshape.

You can try again.

So I wrote this little crochet manifestation for the season I am stepping into, both as a maker and while growing my handmade crochet business.

🧢 Stitching My Way Forward

I loosen the threads that no longer belong,

The habits that held me when I knew they were wrong.

I untangle the knots that kept pulling me tight,

And leave them behind as I step toward the light.

I think growth sometimes begins quietly.

It starts with noticing.

Noticing which behaviors no longer serve us. Noticing which habits keep us stuck. Noticing when something we have been doing simply does not align with where we want to go anymore.

Just like a tangled skein of yarn, sometimes we have to patiently work our way through it before we can create something beautiful.

And sometimes…

We just cut the knot. πŸ˜‚

I will not build a nest from yesterday’s thread,

Or keep stitching patterns my heart has outgrown instead.

I’ll gather new colors, new dreams, and new light,

And crochet something joyful, something truly feels right.

I love the thought of choosing what comes with me.

Not everything from the past needs to be carried forward.

Some things taught me.

Some things shaped me.

Some things simply taught me what I no longer want.

And that is valuable too.

As I grow Knot and Curls, I want to be intentional about the things I create and the energy behind them.

I want my handmade creations to feel like me.

Warm.

Playful.

A little whimsical.

And made with genuine joy.

So I choose one stitch, then another to grow,

I don’t need the whole pattern yet to know.

I’ll follow the rhythm, I’ll let my hands lead,

And trust that each stitch will become what I need.

This is probably the biggest lesson crochet has given me.

You cannot always see the finished piece when you are holding the first few stitches.

You just trust the process.

You count.

You stitch.

You sometimes recount because somehow you lost track. πŸ˜‚

And then you keep going.

Building a crochet business feels much the same.

There are so many things I want to learn and create, but I do not have to accomplish everything at once.

I only need to make the next stitch.

Then the next.

Then another.

stitching my way forward to frogging real quick πŸ˜‚

I’ll frog what is wrong without shame or regret,

For every undone stitch is a lesson I’ve met.

I’ll pull out the rows that no longer align,

And make room for something that feels more like mine.

Ah, frogging.

Our most humbling crochet teacher. 🐸

There is something strangely comforting about knowing we can undo our work.

We are not trapped by the stitches we have already made.

And maybe people are not trapped by their old patterns either.

I can change my mind.

I can change my direction.

I can leave behind behaviors that no longer serve me.

I can choose differently.

Just because I have always done something one way does not mean I have to keep doing it that way.

Sometimes the next beautiful thing begins with pulling out a few old stitches.

I choose growth when comfort says stay,

I choose my purpose to guide me each day.

I choose to create instead of compare,

And choose little moments of joy everywhere.

These are the stitches I want to carry into my creative journey.

Growth over staying comfortable.

Purpose over fawning. πŸ˜‹

Creation over comparison.

Joy over perfection.

Because comparison can make even the prettiest project feel unfinished.

There will always be someone crocheting faster.

Someone making something bigger.

Someone with more followers.

Someone who seems to have everything figured out.

But I am not making their project.

I am making mine.

And I want to enjoy the making.

May my hands stay curious, my wild ideas flow,

May I keep creating wherever they go.

May every small stitch carry warmth when it’s done,

And may what I make bring a smile to someone.

This is the heart behind my handmade crochet business.

I do not just want to make things.

I want to make things that feel like something.

A little warmth.

A little comfort.

A little happiness.

Something made slowly by hand that can remind someone that they are thought of.

That is the kind of handmade work I want to keep putting into the world.

So forward I wander, with yarn in my hand,

With dreams getting bigger than I ever planned.

My hook keeps on moving, my heart follows through,

And I’m stitching a future that feels honest and true.

I do not know exactly where this crochet journey will take me.

And honestly, I think that is part of the fun.

There are still so many things I want to make.

So many yarns I want to play with.

So many ideas waiting patiently in my head.

Some will work.

Some will need frogging.

Some may become something completely different from what I imagined.

And I am learning to be okay with that.

Because I am not trying to make a perfect journey.

I am trying to make an honest one.

One stitch for courage,

One stitch for cheer,

One stitch for the dreams

I’m bringing closer each year.

One stitch for the maker

I’m learning to be,

One stitch for the life

I’m choosing for me.

And maybe that is my little manifestation.

To keep choosing forward.

To release what no longer belongs.

To make room for what does.

To trust my hands.

To trust my creativity.

To trust that even the smallest stitch can eventually become something beautiful.

So here I am.

Hook in hand.

Yarn beside me.

A head full of ideas.

And probably a project or two that I should have finished already. πŸ˜‚

But I am moving forward.

One stitch.

One creation.

One brave little unraveling at a time.

And somewhere between the yarn, the mistakes, the happy accidents, and all the tiny stitches…

I am building Knot and Curls.

Not just a crochet business.

But a little handmade world filled with warmth, creativity, and joy.

And I am stitching it into existence. 🧢✨
