Knot Your Average Bandana: The Final Reveal 🇵ðŸ‡
This is it. The project I’ve been working on for a week now.

And I’m so proud to finally show you, my handmade crochet bandana inspired by Philippines flag.
The Story Behind It
I wanted to make something that would remind me of my gradeschool days, something that felt home. Something I could make my kids wear in Buwan ng Wika, a photoshoot, or just to feel a little extra proud on an ordinary day 🥳😌

So I picked up my hook and got to work.
Blue. Red. Cream. And right in the center an 8-ray sun, crocheted stitch by stitch.
No shortcuts. No diagram or pattern to follow. Just yarn, time, and a lot of love 🥰
The Details
- Â Hand-crocheted with soft, breathable fine combed cotton yarn, perfect for our weather
- Â Triangle bandana style with a picot edge for that delicate finish
- The sun applique is the star of the piece, sitting proudly at the front
- Can be worn as a headscarf, or even tied on your waist to add more definition on your outfit by wearing it above the “saya” or wrap skirt
Pairing it with a classic Filipiniana dress will give it timeless vibe. Modern crochet, rooted in culture!

Why This Project Matters to Me
It reminds me of my childhood. The late nights where I watched nanay sew my costume for Buwan ng Wika, the glittered alampay that adds up accent to the outfit made it look more modern and stylish. I can’t wait till I can recreate that and make my daughters wear the exact same costume 😄
This is for the days you want to wear your pride. For the crafters who believe Filipino design deserves a spotlight.
This is knot-your-average accessory. This is a piece of us.
